Why do we need to keep birth rates low? What are the negative effect of high birth rates?

Singapore had to keep birth rates low between 1960s-1980s as large numbers of children could not go to school. As all parents want their children to be educated, they will bring their children to schools. Hence, most children are brought to schools. But as the birth rates increased, there is lesser and lesser seats in the school. Soon, there is a point where all schools are full and could not accept anymore children. Hence, those that could not go to a school is uneducated. Lowering the birth rates in Singapore could decrease the number of uneducated people.

Singapore had to keep birth rates low between 1960s-1980s as there is a point where too many children are being born in a period of time. When too many children are born, some would be born with some diseases and some woman would suffer from some diseases. The hospitals would not have enough medical services to treat everyone and some would be left out and die from the disease. Hence, lowering the birth rates would lower the number of untreated people and could also lower the death rates in Singapore.

Singapore had to keep birth rates low between 1960s-1980s as Singapore do not have much land for agriculture. When there is more people in the country, more would need to eat. Singapore did not have enough food for everyone and some would have to starve and die of hunger. Hence, lowering the birth rates would lower the number of people starving and dying of hunger.
